Henrietta Otoo is a communication researcher and educator at Arizona State University whose work examines the relationship between emerging technologies, culture, communication, and society. Originally from Ghana, her research explores how technologies such as artificial intelligence, blockchain, and Web3 reshape communication practices, professional norms, access, power, and inclusion, particularly from intercultural and Global South perspectives.

Her previous research has examined Ghana's adoption of blockchain-based crypto stamps and how digital technologies transform cultural heritage, public memory, and representation. Her current work examines the social and ethical implications of emerging technologies, including questions of AI, labor, technological inequality, sustainability, and responsible innovation.

As an educator, Henrietta is especially interested in making complex technological issues accessible and helping students and communities think critically about not only what technologies can do, but also who benefits from them, whose perspectives are represented, and how we can build more inclusive and socially responsible technological futures.
